I’m talking about the Bob Guccione produced Caligula – not to be confused, of course, with the Joe D’Amato film, The Emperor Caligula: The Untold Story, although both do follow a similar path of sleaze and perversion. I’m talking about the legendary movie that we all secretly wondered about when we were younger, the one that we saw ads for in our dad’s dirty magazines when we accidentally found them in a box in the closet (it’s not just me, right?). I’m not talking about the play by Albert Camus, nor (necessarily) the factually accurate account of the madman/emperor of Rome.
